2-Day Annual Conference

Our annual Conference normally takes place in Autumn each year. This two-day event enables AVSM Members and Non Members to access a wide variety of training and lots of networking opportunities. Our programme normally contains keynote speakers and an exciting choice of workshops and short talks. The Conference has taken place in various locations over the years including Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Liverpool. 2021 Online AVSM Conference

We held our first ever online conference in March 2021 which was a great success. 

We were joined by keynote speakers Graham Allcott of Think Productive and Patrick Vernon OBE.

Our workshop sessions were carried out by Shaun Delaney who guided us through a session on Being an Effective and Resilient Leader and Gillie Booth who lead a session on Effective Remote Working. 

We heard from leading charity sector digital expert Zoe Amar on how best to use social media, particularly to recruit volunteers. 

To finish the conference we heard from four AVSM members in our popular Short Talks session. They spoke about various projects they’ve worked on, including full-time volunteering, Retail recruitment, IPU volunteering in a pandemic and supporting younger volunteers.
